Sheffield United centre-forward Daniel Jebbison looks set to secure a move away from Bramall Lane this summer.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a report by The Sheffield Star, who claimed that, after assessing his attacking options at Sheffield United, Slavisa Jokanovic is of the view that sending the 18-year-old out on loan next season would further his development more than keeping him within the Blades’ first team squad.

The report added that Sunderland is the preferred destination for the centre-forward, as the Serbian manager feels that the weight of playing for a club with the stature of the Black Cats would help the striker’s mental development, although the Blades are open to proposals from other sides who may be keen to take the youngster on a season-long loan.

Grave error

While it is true that playing regular first team football will undoubtedly benefit Jebbison more than simply sitting on the bench next season, the argument could easily be made that the 18-year-old is more than deserving of being afforded a chance to lead the Sheffield United line before a decision is made on whether or not he should be sent out on loan.

Indeed, despite his tender age, the £900k-rated man impressed over his four Premier League appearances last term, scoring one goal – the winner on his Premier League debut against Everton – along with averaging one shot and 0.3 key passes per game.

These performances led to the likes of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and Chelsea taking note of the striker, while Micah Richards dubbed the youngster as Sheffield United’s “shining light”, also stating his belief that the player is a “fantastic” talent.

As such, with none of the other Sheffield United forwards doing anything last season to seal their place as the Blades’ first-choice option at centre-forward for the upcoming Championship campaign, and with the transfer market remaining open until the end of August, Jebbison may well feel aggrieved he has not been given an opportunity to display his talents for his club in the second tier before they send him out on loan.

Indeed, should the Blades struggle for goals next term while Jebbison is possibly banging them in out on loan, Jokanovic’s decision could well prove to be something of a grave mistake by the Serbian coach if he follows through on his intentions to loan out the teenager.

Com exceção de Conca e Thiago Santos, todos participaram pelo menos um pouco da atividade. Fla venceu por 4 a 0.

Jogo-treino foi importante para Ederson mostrar que está em forma. Camisa 10 participou com os companheiros e marcou um dos gols na goleada por 4 a 0. Além dele, Guerrero, Trauco e Berrío deixaram suas marcas. Atividade foi fechada para a imprensa e clube não divulgou maiores detalhes. Ederson tem chance de ser relacionado para o jogo e voltar atuar após mais de nove meses parado.

Zé Ricardo já havia comentado sobre usar esse compromisso para testar formações e buscar um substituto para Diego. Se tiver mantido o que foi treinado na última terça, comandante pode ter começado com três volantes, com Márcio Araújo, Rômulo e Willian Arão, mas também não descartou Mancuello atuando como o armador da equipe.

Everton está recuperado e não deverá ser problema para o clássico contra o Botafogo, mas Zé Ricardo gostou bastante de Trauco atuando mais avançado. Caso não queria arriscar para quarta-feira, lateral-peruando pode continuar fazendo a função do camisa 22.

SOMERSET27-Oct-2002Somerset County Cricket Club have just held their Youth Presentation Evening in the Colin Atkinson Pavilion at the County Ground.Among the guests of honour at the occasion were the 2003 captain Mike Burns who made the presentations, Somerset coach Kevin Shine, Assistant Coach Mark Garaway, Chairman of Cricket Vic Marks and Mrs Jackie Corner.Well over 180 young cricketers who have played for the Somerset representative teams between the ages of Under 11 and Under 17 were present at the occasion, along with all the team managers and coaches.Chairman of the Somerset Cricket Board Youth Committee Pat Colbourne welcomed everybody who was present to an evening which was held to celebrate the successes of the various age groups.The presentation that were made were:The NAYC Under 19’s Two Day Competition Cup was presented by Mike Burns to Richard Timms who played a major part in helping the team to their success.The Tony Corner Memorial Cup for the Under 17 Player of the year was presented to James Hildreth.The Len Creed Memorial Cup for the Under 16’s was presented to Simon Marchant.The Tony Corner Cup for the Under 15 Player of the year was presented to Robin Lett.The Tony Corner Cups for the 2002 district competitions were presented to:Under 11’s -The South WestUnder 12’s -The South WestUnder 13’s- The South WestUnder 14’s- The South WestUnder 15’s- The North West.The Somerset County Cricket Club Youth Presentation evening was a great success and with so much emerging talent the future of cricket in the county looks very bright indeed.

Stuart MacGill has announced his retirement from international cricket and the current Test against West Indies in Antigua will be his last. MacGill, 37, has struggled to have an impact in the Caribbean, where he is playing his first Tests since having surgery on his right wrist in December to deal with carpal-tunnel syndrome. At the time of making his decision, he had 207 wickets at 28.43 in 44 Tests.MacGill was the man Australia turned to after Shane Warne’s retirement and although he celebrated his comeback to the international set-up with his 200th Test wicket, achieved against Sri Lanka in November, he battled with hand and knee problems during that series and was forced to re-evaluate his future. Despite a reasonably successful Pura Cup return in early 2008, he was unable to translate that to Tests and is yet to decide whether to continue playing for New South Wales.”Over the past six months I have experienced enough highs and lows to fill a lifetime,” MacGill said. “My 200th Test wicket couldn’t have been scripted any better. I will never forget the happiness I felt when my family welcomed me at the hotel that night, yet the very next week I was filled with the pain and disappointment of injury.”Although I considered retirement at the time, I decided to prove to myself that I could rise again and trained privately harder than I have done in years. When I bowled Brad Hodge in the Pura Cup final I knew that despite the often suffocating public scrutiny, I loved my job. I also knew that I was ready to play Test cricket again.”Unfortunately now my time is up. One of the treats for a bowler playing Test cricket is that you have a champion bowling up the other end. Bowling with some of cricket’s all-time greats such as Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne, Jason Gillespie and Brett Lee has made my job a lot easier. I want to be sure that exciting young bowlers like Mitchell Johnson enjoy the same privilege.”As I said many times last summer, there is no way I will ever walk on to a cricket field unless I can guarantee that I can dismiss top-order batsmen consistently. The prospect of letting myself and the team down is simply not an option. I have worked way too hard for too long to sabotage my achievements by playing Test cricket for the wrong reasons.”His return to the Test scene in Kingston was marred by long hops and full tosses, and he struggled to threaten a West Indies line-up that had been rattled by Lee and Stuart Clark. Australia will not send a replacement player to the Caribbean for the third Test, as they already have a back-up slow bowler, Beau Casson, in the squad. MacGill’s unexpected departure may provide Casson with a Test debut in Barbados.”Some people may worry about the future of spin bowling in this country, but I am not one of them,” MacGill said. “My game improved exponentially with each step up I made, and I am sure that any of the young spinners playing state cricket will thrive given the same opportunities. I am very excited for Beau, another Western Australian boy who made a very good move east.”While Casson is in the box seat for an immediate call-up, Australia’s selectors will be forced to make some tough decisions on the future of their spin stocks before the Test tour of India later this year. They had hoped MacGill could remain the No. 1 slow bowler for at least a couple of years while the younger men developed, but the likes of Casson, Dan Cullen and Victoria’s 36-year-old legspinner Bryce McGain will suddenly be vying for an important role.MacGill, one of Australia’s most successful slow bowlers of the modern era, suffered from being a legspinner at a time when Warne was mesmerising the world. His appearances were usually limited to when Warne was unavailable, although the pair did bowl together on occasions with some success. His Test debut came in early 1998 in Adelaide, when he outperformed Warne against South Africa.An old-fashioned one-dimensional cricketer – he was one of the few men who sometimes batted below McGrath and was less than athletic in the field – MacGill’s huge legbreak and excellent wrong’un made him a handful for batsmen the world over. His best efforts included a 12-wicket Test against England in Sydney in 1999, and he had an outstanding 2003-04, when Warne was out with a drugs ban.MacGill reached 200 Test wickets in his 41st Test – only Clarrie Grimmett, Dennis Lillee and Waqar Younis took fewer games to get there. While the end was not as he had hoped, MacGill will be remembered as an example of Australia’s incredible depth during the Waugh and Ponting eras, and as one the best contemporary spinners.

يرى مارك لورنسون أن مشكلة ليفربول في تجديد عقد نجم الفريق محمد صلاح، تعود بشكل جزئي إلى صفقة انتقال جاك جريليش إلى مانشستر سيتي.

صلاح لديه عام واحد متبقي على عقده في الأنفيلد، وعلى الرغم من التكهنات بأنه سيغادر هذا الصيف، أكد المصري أنه سيبقى مع نادي ميرسيسايد الموسم المقبل.

ومع ذلك، لا يزال ليفربول في مفاوضات مع اللاعب البالغ من العمر 29 عامًا بشأن عقد جديد من شأنه أن يبقيه إلى ما بعد 2023.

واستكمل: “حسنًا، إذا كان جريليش سيذهب إلى هناك مقابل 100 مليون جنيه إسترليني، فإن وكيلي- الذي هو لاعب أفضل بكثير ويسجل الكثير من الأهداف – يجب أن يحصل على الأقل ما يظفر به جريليش”.

وتابع: “لكن من الواضح أن لديهم شروطًا وأحكامًا مختلفة في مانشستر سيتي”.

وكانت تقارير قد أشارت إلى أن جريليش يمتلك راتبًا أسبوعيًا يتراوح بين 200 و300 ألف جنيه إسترليني في ملعب الاتحاد.

Evening Standard journalist Jack Rosser has revealed West Ham United boss David Moyes is desperate to welcome more reinforcements to the London Stadium ahead of a campaign of European football.

The Hammers are set to have a jam-packed season having qualified for the Europa League thanks to registering a club record Premier League points tally last season.

More minutes on the pitch means Moyes could do with adding strength in depth, but West Ham have only been able to confirm the arrival of Alphonse Areola so far.

Areola, who has joined on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain with an option to buy, made 37 appearances as he shone for Fulham last term.

But Moyes is not willing to stop there and has been linked with a host of strikers – including Chelsea outcast Tammy Abraham – and central defenders since the the transfer window opened.

Rosser insists Moyes is working around the clock to strengthen his options.

He told Football FanCast: “They’re certainly looking and Moyes knows there is a need to invest this summer if they want to compete in Europe and maintain a top 10 place in the Premier League. That will be the aim, I think, next season.”
