É o sexto jogo desse time.

Hampshire are in talks with the West Indies Cricket Board over the possibility of joining the Caribbean T20 and are waiting on assurances from the board.Hampshire missed out on the Twenty20 Champions League after winning the Friends Provident t20 because the tournament clashed with the end of the Championship season. Playing in West Indies’ domestic tournament would be their first chance of international competition. The club are yet to commit, however, because they are waiting on news from the WICB. “We have yet to commit as there are financial implications,” Hampshire chief executive Glenn Delve said. “Financially it needs to stack up and we have yet to receive assurances from the West Indies cricket board.”The inaugural Caribbean T20 was held in July this year with Guyana emerging triumphant and earning a spot in the Champions League Twenty20. The Calypso Cup, another Twenty20 tournament planned for January 2011, has been postponed indefinitely due to “ongoing financial challenges” faced by the board. The tournament was meant to include four domestic teams from the Caribbean, three English counties and one overseas team.Hampshire’s presence would help raise the profile of the tournament, which is scheduled for January.Hampshire were previously linked to the Royals franchise but sought to distance themselves when Rajasthan Royals were expelled from the IPL, with chairman Rod Bransgrove telling reporters when the news broke that “the club has not yet signed final documentation in relation to the proposed commercial partnership with the Rajasthan Royals.”

Liverpool eye Jude Bellingham move

Liverpool are among the leading candidates to sign Jude Bellingham.

What’s the word?

That’s according to German outlet BILD, who report that Real Madrid and Liverpool are “already closely monitoring” Bellingham’s development.

The newspaper stated that the England star is the most expensive 18-year-old footballer in the world, whilst being priceless for Dortmund.

[snack-amp-story url=”https://www.footballfancast.com/web-stories/read-the-latest-liverpool-news-transfer-rumours-gossip-salah-gnabry-isak-romano” title= “Read the latest Liverpool news!”]

BILD state that Bellingham’s status in the Dortmund hierarchy is expected to rise next season, with the leadership issues at BVB serving as a problem for the Signal Iduna Park side.

The fee may set Liverpool back though, with the German outlet stating this. “One thing is clear: if the ‘BellingBOOM’ continues at this breathtaking pace, the Dortmund diamond will soon become the next ‘over 100 million deal’ for Borussia.”

Worth every penny

From what we have seen of Bellingham so far, along with the metrics that he has produced during his developmental and prosperous time at Dortmund, he is worth every penny of the estimated €100m price tag.

The exchange rate would actually see Bellingham valued at around £83m, bringing the fee closer to his current market value which currently sits at £67.5m according to Transfermarkt.

Though, for an 18-year-old who has been described as a “leader” by teammate Mats Hummels and a “sensation” as per BT Sport, a £100m price tag would still seem worth it – given his identity as a current player, whilst bearing in mind his almost limitless potential.

The England wonderkid who stands at 5 foot 11 has asserted himself as a Dortmund regular ever since his move from Birmingham City in 2020.

This season has seen a big improvement in his goal contributions, with the £49k-per-week talent netting six goals and producing 13 assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.

Even more impressive though, is his record in the Champions League this season. With four goal contributions in six appearances, in the form of one goal and three assists, Bellingham has demonstrated his prowess as a big-game player.

A key attribute that Klopp and the Reds faithful will appreciate though is his ability to lead.

After the 4-1 defeat to RB Leipzig, Bellingham was the only player to stand in front of the fans and applaud them, an act that has made him the new “darling” of the BVB fanbase.

Dracena, Deyverson, Diogo Barbosa… Veja o 'boletim médico' do Palmeiras

MatériaMais Notícias

Quando o Edu Dracena vai jogar? O Diogo Barbosa tem prazo para estrear? E o Deyverson? A recuperação do Jean está indo bem?

A expectativa é otimista.

Diogo Barbosa

Watson stands in way of fighting India

India turned a bad morning into a bright afternoon despite the committed effort of Shane Watson, who collected his third century in a week

The Bulletin by Peter English01-Oct-2010Day 1 Australia 224 for 5 (Watson 101*, Ponting 71, Zaheer 3-45) v India
Scorecard and ball-by-ball details
Ricky Ponting’s run-out turned the tide•AFP

India turned a bad morning into a bright afternoon despite the committed effort of Shane Watson, who collected his third century in a week. Watson, who posted twin hundreds in the tour game, survived two chances in delivering the sort of performance expected of a specialist opener, not one Australia have manufactured over the past year.Despite Watson’s calm 101 on the opening day, the visitors are far from safe at 224 for 5 after a stinging late burst from Zaheer Khan, India’s only fit paceman following a knee injury to Ishant Sharma. Zaheer, who was steaming in the second session during a confrontation with Ricky Ponting, gained his second lbw when he picked up Michael Hussey (17) with a reverse-swinging delivery and followed up by clipping Marcus North’s off stump when he tried to leave on 0.Zaheer finished with 3 for 45 off 16 overs to continue the fine recovery by a side that was struggling badly over the first half of the day. The locals would have been happier had MS Dhoni, who returned from the Champions League Twenty20 two days ago, caught a regulation chance off Tim Paine (1 not out).On a pitch with low bounce and gaining in turn, Watson began in an aggressive mood but toned down once Ponting and Michael Clarke departed before tea, leaving the tourists at an uncomfortable 172 for 3. Until Ponting’s departure for 71, Australia had been the ones in control but his run-out forced a change of pace, and Watson started grinding towards three-figures.There was no rush from Watson as the Indian spinners delivered tight spells in the afternoon and were called on for more work following Ishant’s departure after 7.4 overs. Only 45 runs were scored in the final session as the ball softened and the spinners closed in against the defensive Watson, Clarke and Hussey.Smart Stats

Shane Watson’s unbeaten 101 was his second Test hundred, and his first against India. Since July 2009, when he began opening the batting, Watson averages 51.95, with ten 50-plus scores in 23 innings. Prior to July 2009, Watson averaged 19.76 in 13 innings with one fifty.

The 141-run second-wicket partnership with Shane Watson was Ricky Ponting’s 79th century stand in Tests, which puts him in second place, behind Rahul Dravid’s 82.

Australia’s run-rate reduced drastically after Ponting’s dismissal: till he was at the crease, Australia scored at 3.69 runs per over; after his dismissal, the rate fell to 1.45 (70 in 48.2 overs). Watson scored at a strike rate of 52 (64 off 123) till Ponting was around, and 24 (37 off 156) after he was out. Overall, this is the slowest of Watson’s 11 fifty-plus scores.

Ponting was run out for the 14th time in his Test career, which is the most for any batsman. Border, Dravid and Hayden are next with 12 such dismissals.

Zaheer Khan has dismissed right and left-handers 58 times each in Tests since the beginning of 2007, but his average against left-handers (26.01) is much better than the average against right-handers (32.10) during this period.

Rahul Dravid’s catch to dismiss Michael Clarke was his 46th against Australia, which is only second to Ian Botham, who has 57.

Watson has spent some gut-wrenching periods in the nineties during his 21 Tests, but he stayed calm and crept up on a rewarding second century. The milestone came with a legside clip for two off Harbhajan Singh and he stayed until the end, capturing eight fours from his 279 balls. It was a performance that bettered the 78 he made at the same ground two years ago, an innings that showed he could succeed when grit was required.Watson and Ponting had survived some scares and overcame the early loss of Simon Katich (6) in their stabilising 141-run stand. The two-Test series began with Virender Sehwag’s second-ball drop of Watson, who was also missed by Dhoni on 37, while Ponting benefitted from Ishant’s over-stepping when glancing behind.Ponting returned the charity after responding tardily to Watson’s call for a single and was run out by Suresh Raina’s smart direct hit from midwicket. The third umpire was required to decide Ponting’s fate after his mostly composed innings, but as he walked past the fielders he was called out by Zaheer in the first flashpoint of the series. The taunts resulted in the captain changing direction and walking towards the huddle for a short exchange. It was the fourth time Ponting, 35, had been caught short in Tests since going to England last year and the type of dismissal was particularly frustrating given the strong position of his team. Until that point it was India who had been unnecessarily generous with dropped catches, missed run-out chances and a flood of eight no-balls from Ishant.India went in with four specialist bowlers, but only two were fast men, so Ishant’s injured knee was another concerning development, especially as Harbhajan had to pass a fitness test in the morning. The lack of firepower could harm the hosts for the remainder of the game, but not if Zaheer continues weaving the ball late.India’s initial difficulty was eased by Raina’s brilliant throw and the scoring-rate quickly dropped as Watson and Clarke added 18 at 1.5 an over against the spinners. Clarke then tried to cut a wider ball from Harbhajan and edged to Rahul Dravid at first slip.Harbhajan was much more dangerous after lunch, slowing the runs and creating some half-chances in his 1 for 69 off 29 overs, and the pitch will help the slow men more as the game wears on. Pragyan Ojha, the left-arm orthodox spinner, also played an important role, rarely allowing an attacking option, as he gave away 39 runs in 31 overs. After a strong start the signs are already worrying for Australia, even though their opponents are possibly a man short.

Ox backed to leave Liverpool this summer

Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will leave the club at the end of the season, according to former England goalkeeper and Sky Sports pundit Paul Robinson.

The Lowdown: Lack of minutes for Ox

There was a time when the 28-year-old was a key player for the Reds back in 2017/18 but those days seem like a distant memory now, despite being hailed as ‘outstanding’ by Jurgen Klopp more recently.

[web_stories_embed url=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/latest-liverpool-transfer-news-28/” title=”Latest Liverpool transfer news!” poster=”” width=”360″ height=”600″ align=”none”]

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been limited to just nine Premier League starts this season and he has been left out of matchday squads entirely of late, including the FA Cup semi-final against Man City on Saturday.

With the former Arsenal man out of contract in the summer of 2023, it could be that Liverpool decide to sell him at the end of the season.

The Latest: Midfielder backed to leave

That’s certainly what Robinson thinks will happen, with the ex-England man turned Sky regular pundit telling Football Insider that he expects Oxlade-Chamberlain to be at a new club in 2022/23.

The former Tottenham ace also claims Klopp’s midfielder will be ‘desperate’ to leave Anfield in search of playing time.

“It is a squad game. If he hasn’t got a game since February it is telling you that he is not really needed.  At this stage of his career, with the time he has left on his contract it looks like he will be leaving.

“To be part of a team challenging on all fronts is exciting. But it is only exciting if you are getting game time. Oxlade-Chamberlain will be fed up there. He will be desperate to play.

“The team was changed so much against Benfica so for him not to get a run out says a lot. He is far down the pecking order. He could leave because he will want to be playing.”

The Verdict: Suits all parties

It looks almost a certainty that Oxlade-Chamberlain will leave Liverpool this summer, given the manner in which Klopp is using him these days.

It makes sense for all parties for that to be the case, with the Englishman in need of regular football elsewhere, especially if he has any ambitions of making England’s World Cup squad later this year.

His time at Liverpool has reached its natural conclusion and young players such as Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott are better options moving forward, as well as incoming signing Fabio Carvalho.

In other news, Liverpool are thought to be planning a new contract for one player. Find out who it is here.

Aston Villa must axe Sanson amid transfer update

Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has been mentioned with a potential overhaul of his squad during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The previous January window saw numerous players not only make moves to Villa Park but also saw some other figures wave goodbye to the club as they left on loan deals.

Looking ahead to the upcoming summer transfer window, it seems as though one current Villa figure could be set to have his bags packed and bring his time at the Midlands club to an end.

What’s the news?

According to a recent report from Football Insider sources, French club Marseille are interested in re-signing Villa midfielder Morgan Sanson this summer.

Villa signed the Frenchman back in the 2021 January transfer window in a deal worth a reported fee of £16m.

Since then, the midfielder has only made 20 appearances for the Villans across all competitions, failing to score even one goal or provide one assist, making him somewhat of a flop considering what they paid for him.

Get rid of Sanson

Having suffered from injury and illness issues when he first arrived at the club, which was described as “frustrating” by former Villa manager Dean Smith, the 27-year-old has found it hard to get regular game time under Gerrard in this campaign.

Since the turn of the year, the £59k-per-week disappointment has only appeared in six league games, starting just two of them.

It’s hard to determine what exactly the Frenchman offers the team considering how, from an attacking point of view, he’s only been able to make three shot-creating actions in the league.

From a defensive standpoint, he’s only made eight tackles for his side, which is lower than the likes of Leon Bailey, Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins.

His performances throughout this campaign haven’t done much to convince the current Villa boss that he deserves to be in the squad next season.

According to WhoScored, the former Marseille star is listed as the lowest-rated Villa player currently in Gerrard’s squad to have started more than one league fixture, with an overall rating of 6.34/10.

With that in mind, if Gerrard doesn’t have Sanson in his long-term plans for the future beyond this season and Marseille are willing to make a suitable financial offer for their former midfielder, then selling him would be the best option for all parties this summer.
